Rahul Siddharth

Brand Consultant / Creative Director / Comic

Meet Rahul Siddharth, stand up comic with a New York state of mind. His smart, sharp, sophisticated comedy has been heard in major cities across the US for eight years now. American-born and slightly-confused, his unique storytelling illustrates a first generation Indian struggling to find happiness somewhere between America and the expectations of traditional Indian parents. The pangs of dating, relationships, family, arranged marriages, social politics, religion… there’s no topic he won’t cover, and he’s a crowd favorite because of it.

Rahul has appeared on Gurus of Comedy Tour, Desigasm! Comedy Tour, Oxygen Network, HGTV, WPAX, American Desi TV, and his short film “A Close Shave” has been seen on ComedyCentral.com and iFilm.com. He has also been seen in Los Angeles at The Comedy Store, The Laugh Factory, Cobbs in San Francisco and NYC clubs: Gotham Comedy Club, Carolines, Stand-Up NY, Laugh Lounge, New York Comedy Club, The Laugh Factory, Boston Comedy Club, The Improv and The Comic Strip.

In 2002, he was a writer for a new sketch comedy show, Human Relations 101, on WPAX. His sketches have also been performed at Caroline’s and PSNBC. In 2001, Rahul wrote, directed, starred, and produced a short film, “A Close Shave”, that was on Comedy Central and www.ifilm.com (keyword: A Close Shave) and won many film festival awards. In 1997, he produced a successful off-off Broadway romantic musical revue called “In Good Company”.

He was awarded Theatre Fairfield’s 1995 Playwriting Festival for Best Comedy: “Love is Here to Stay”. His favorite acting role is Malvolio in Twelfth Night for Theatre Fairfield.

When Rahul is not on stage or writing, he is fending off his mom’s constant pestering on why he is not a licensed doctor or plays one on TV.
